Calcium Hydroxide Removal Using Four Different Irrigation Systems: A Quantitative Evaluation by Scanning Electron Microscopy

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study compares conventional endodontic needle irrigation, passive ultrasonic apical negative pressure and mechanical activation to remove calcium hydroxide from single straight root canals. Eighty-four mandibular premolars were prepared in a crown-down manner up size #40. Two teeth represented control, another two served as positive control. Calcium paste was placed inside The remaining eighty samples analyzed based on the techniques, cleanliness of canals quantified using Fiji’s software 500× magnified SEM backscattered electron micrographs. Considering whole canal, all instruments showed better performance than irrigation removing (p < 0.05). Irrisafe XP-endo Finisher could significantly higher amount Endovac have been able more EndoVac.

A scanning electron microscopic evaluation of root canal wall cleanliness after calcium hydroxide removal using three irrigation regimens.

AIMS The aims of this in vitro study were to evaluate debris and smear layer elimination capability effectiveness of 5.25% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) after calcium hydroxide removal from the root canal and to determine if ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) and citric acid have any additional effects on debris and smear layer removal. METHODS AND MATERIALS All irrigation regimens are asso...

Calcium hydroxide intracanal dressing removal with different rotary instruments and irrigating solutions: a scanning electron microscopy study.

This study evaluated the efficacy of 2 types of rotary instruments employed in association with sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) or EDTA in removing calcium hydroxide (CH) residues from root canals dentin walls. Forty-two mandibular human incisors were instrumented with the ProTaper System up to F2 instrument, irrigated with 2.5% NaOCl followed by 17% EDTA and filled with a CH intracanal dressing. A...
